Main content start

In honor of Filipino American History Month, the Stanford Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery's DEI-Wellness Committee hosted a special luncheon to celebrate the rich heritage and contributions of the Filipino American community on October 16, 2024. Attendees enjoyed a vibrant afternoon filled with delicious Filipino food, engaging conversations, and inspiring speaker and dance presentations. A highlight of the event was guest speaker Curie Sevilla, Co-Chair for the Filipino American Community at Stanford (FACS). Sevilla shared her success story, touching on the importance of community, resilience, and cultural pride. The event was rounded out with an exciting tinikling dance. Thank you to our fantastic guest speaker, dancers, and organizers for putting on this event and to all who participated in this important celebration!
